Welcome to Leeds Guitar Lessons, my name is Rhys Williams.

As a musician, songwriter and performer I have over 20 years of industry experience, performing live both as a solo artist and as the lead singer and guitarist with a number of bands nationwide. This aspect of my career has seen me perform extensively, as well as writing and publishing original material and bringing these compositions to fruition in the recording studio.

Since graduating with a First Class Honours degree from the prestigious Leeds Music Conservatoire, I’ve taught privately and in several well-established Music Schools around West Yorkshire, and in Summer 2017 set up my own dedicated teaching studios in Rodley, Leeds. I also teach from my home studio in Halifax.

I provide a friendly and personable service, tailoring my teaching methods and style towards the individual student and their specific goals. All my students are given a thorough grounding in music theory and technique but with the emphasis always being on the playing of the instrument. Together we work on developing repertoire as well as the possibility of achieving grade qualifications, performing and even writing and recording your own compositions.

My wealth of experience as both a live performer and published songwriter enables me to cultivate and nurture these aspects in any students interested in performing live or writing their own material.

ABOUT LESSONS:

Lessons are taught from either my teaching rooms in Rodley, Leeds or my home studio near Halifax. Both spaces however are fully equipped and allow students to learn in an interesting and relaxed environment.

All lessons are tailored to the individual, whether that be playing for pleasure or working towards graded exams (my students have a 100% pass rate!). I also teach the Rock School syllabus to those students interested in grades, in both performance and theory, as well being able to offer personalised tuition in songwriting and compositional skills, in addition to performance techniques and confidence building.

I offer tuition to all students aged 5+, whether complete beginner or advanced, in a multitude of styles.

I am able to teach throughout school holidays (except Christmas and Easter) to ensure students keep up skill levels.
