I have been going to Rhys for guitar lessons (and some singing) for some time now. He is definitely the best teacher I have had – and I have tried a few! He listened to what I wanted from the lessons and then focused his teaching on that. Then over time he has cleverly woven in theory (in a gentle manner) so I have become a more rounded guitarist, but also now able to pick up and strum many songs, which was my original goal but he has opened the guitar up to so much more. He is friendly, passionate knowledgeable and patient. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher.

Rhys has been teaching me guitar for 3 years and I have learned a lot in that time, having started lessons as an average player without much confidence or direction. I have improved across all areas of playing guitar and lessons have remained fun, varied and informative every week.

Rhys has helped me to develop in a number of areas such as knowledge of scales, improvising lead guitar, creating riffs & licks, finger picking style and chord progressions. He adapts my lessons seamlessly as my focus shifts back and forth between topics and his ability to transcribe and teach whatever random songs/parts I come up with has been invaluable.

Rhys has also supported me with song writing, making suggestions and helping to understand what works and why. He also got me singing with just a few weeks of lessons which I wasn’t sure was ever going to happen.
Overall I have become more confident and knowledgeable in playing guitar and I’m enjoying it more than ever! 🎸🎶

Rhys was my guitar and vocal teacher a few years back, work and life got hectic so I put the lessons on hold, but as soon as my passion for it returned I imediatley looked Rhys back up again and didn’t want to look for a new teacher. He is really knowlageable and is also very laid back and easy going. He helps me develop my songs, teaches me new techniques and provides general advice to improve my sound when performing live. Rhys has taught me for a good few years now and I have loved having singing and guitar lessons with him! We work on really valuable techniques which has made my voice stronger and more versatile and Rhys is so easy to work with, allowing me to decide what I want to do and work with me over a range of genres. He is really flexible and always willing to try and make things work for me whether that be whilst singing, playing guitar or organising lessons. We do remote lessons as I live a while away and they’re just as valuable as the ones we’ve had face to face pre-covid. Rhys is a fantastic teacher, really friendly and supportive in his teaching style!!

He is a great guitar and vocal teacher, he got me from a beginner guitarist to the point where I can play with other musicians and how to play as a band, he help me learn my favourite songs and helped me with making my own music. I highly recommend him.

Brilliant, skilled and knowledgeable teacher. He lets students decide on what they would like to do for that lesson so they are more beneficial for the pupils needs while also having the opportunity for a lesson plan to be made in case the student wasn’t sure what they would like to work on.

Rhys is not only a brilliant guitar teacher but a genuinely nice guy and I really can’t recommend him enough! He has been teaching my 7 year old daughter for a year now and the effort he puts in to engaging with her and keeping lessons fun and interesting is amazing. I never thought I’d be able to play, but Rhys had me up and running playing some of my favourite songs within weeks of picking up the instrument. Now, a few months on and I’m finding the confidence and compentency to write (as well as sing!) my own songs. My only regret is that I didn’t start lessons sooner. thanks Rhys!

My 6 year daughter has been having guitar lessons with Rhys for 1 year now and I can honestly say that she loves it! Rhys is a great teacher- he has great attention to detail, explains (in simple, age-appropriate language) what he has taught, and makes the lessons fun and enjoyable for my daughter. Rhys has been coaching our jam band for a couple of years and has taken us from a bunch of guys struggling to keep the beat to playing little local festivals with 45 minute sets. Great guy great coach.

I’ve been having singing lessons with Rhys for almost 4 years now and I’ve been so happy with my progress. I started out a complete beginner and made fast progress with Rhys’ help. Rhys continually finds ways to challenge me a bit more each time to help me get better and better but without knocking my confidence. It’s mostly been practical, singing actual songs, but often with a well placed vocal exercise to work on a specific technique. I’m now able to sing all kinds of things I never expected I’d manage!

Rhys is an awesome tutor and has an excellent way of working through any weaknesses within my playing and offers really good advice when I am struggling creatively. I Look forward to my weekly session every week still five years on!
